Kevin Marcus
Founder and CTO

Kevin Marcus brings a wealth of experience in cutting-edge Internet technologies to his role as co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at Versium. With a background in computer science, strong analytical skills, and a good practical sense for business needs, he’s architected and driven many key product solutions from inception to release, and is now doing the same at Versium.

Marcus co-founded two successful technology companies, Infospace (NASDAQ: INSP) and Intelius, where he delivered several complex solutions, including data processing, user and payment platforms, a “cobranding” platform, and a massively-scalable virtual database. He was one of the pioneers in the mobile phone space, creating several of the world’s first mobile phone video games on AT&T PocketNet’s service.

In a leadership role, Marcus guided engineering teams to successfully deliver a comprehensive suite of background check technologies, as well as applications including messaging and aggregation services. The innovations in his work have resulted in his holding five United States patents related to user authentication, messaging, geographical searching, and CPU emulation. He has also advised on technological feasibility for over 30 mergers and acquisitions.

And he’s continuing to help shape the future of technology, most recently being a guest speaker on entrepreneurship for the UC Riverside College of Engineering. He’s also served on the founding board of the University of Washington Information School, and presented and published for MIT’s Senseable City Lab.

His passion for technology extends into his spare time, where he supports and participates in several organizations dedicated to promoting private space exploration, such as XPrize Foundation, Moon Express, and Google Lunar XPRIZE.
